Multiverse Now!

Speed of Darkness —Exhibition

Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova museum Turku /Kumu Art Museum Tallinn

2012

Installation: LED lights, videoprojection, sound, mirrors, custom electronics

Sound by Kristian Ekholm

The installation creates illusions of gateways to other dimension. The work is inspired by theories about the possibilites of such other universes. The artist aims to expand the viewers perception of distance and space. As the presence of the audience is crucial to the work, the piece can be fully viewed only by physically entering the space.

The installation is a part of the Speed of Darkness -exhibition that was first in Aboa Vetus Ars Nova museum in Turku and later it travelled to KUMU Art Museum, Tallinn. The exhibition is about installations that deal with space and light and it has been curated by Jaakko Niemelä and Eha Komissarov. The kone foundation has offered its support to this exhibition project.
